Welcome to the 11th edition of Watchmen Connect!

Prophecies have said that 2019 will be the year of possession of promises, dreams and inheritance – for individuals, families, and nations. As we have entered into the second half of the year, let’s keep declaring and decreeing from God’s perspective. How can we do this? By leaning into Him and spending invaluable times of intimacy with Him. As little children, we lift up our eyes to our Father to see what He is saying. Then, by faith, we declare and decree His truth! He is faithful! All His promises will come to pass!

We make decrees because God makes decrees - and we are made in His image.  He is described as the One “who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.”  (Romans 4:17) God creates by speaking, and has made us to do the same. This is who He is and so it is who we are!

Since Creation

From the very beginning of Creation this pattern is evident – God creates by speaking.  In fact, Creation itself came into being through declaration. God imagined and then spoke!  He did not stop at imagining the world, He spoke it into life. Both man and the wonders of the universe He devised in the same manner.

“Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3)

Had God only imagined the world, it would never have sparked into existence. He decreed it! One can wonder why it is so, yet it is because the nature of God demands it.  We should not require a deeper rationale than that. Even so, the Scriptures make it plainly clear that this pattern is at the core of the Kingdom of God.

Consider, as another example, how we come to faith.  Salvation cannot be had aside from speaking.

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)

If we only believe, we are only half way there.  Which is to say, the process of activating what we believe in our hearts is not completed until we speak it with our mouths.  This is why the Scripture tells us the word is near us, even in our mouths. (Romans 10:8) The decreed Word is the basis for the advance of God’s dominion.

Old and New

The prophets understood this and were also called to declare.  It was not enough to write their words on parchment or give mental ascent to them, they had to speak them out; they had to decree them.  Thus, when the prophet Ezekiel is in the Valley of Dry Bones, God asks, “Can they live?” The question is followed by the call to declare.

“Again He said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!’” (Ezekiel 37:4)

The catalyst is speaking!

While much more can be said, the pattern is very clear in His Word.  We were made not only to believe, but to speak. It is, therefore, no wonder why the enemy works so hard at muzzling the people of God.  He knows, perhaps better than we do, the nature and power of decrees. The Kingdom of God is established and increased by declaration.

“You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.” (Job 22:28)

“Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created. He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away.” (Psalm 148:4-6)

Overseas Chinese Homecoming Gathering in Austin, Texas May 29 – June 1, 2019

This Gathering was truly definitive in many ways!  Chinese from the east and west came together in unprecedented oneness and mutual honour, supported by other people groups from different areas. With tears of gratitude, the Chinese honoured the west for birthing the Chinese Church and the Austin Family honoured our coming as an answer to their prayers. There was a beautiful expression of another dimension of Malachi 4, with fathers and sons coming together to break the curse.

The themes of fatherhood and sonship, and of generations walking together flowed throughout the Gathering. Many tears were shed and many hearts healed and transformed. Truly Abba is making us one with His supernatural love.

Since the Gathering was held on a university campus, and those attending stayed in the dormitories, it felt as though something was being set in place for revival among the younger generation. The University's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," came to life, and we continue to see the ripple effects of the Gathering - both in spiritual and natural realms.

The Overseas Chinese Family has been strengthened. And we are rising from isolation to align with God’s endtime destiny for us, and to bless and impact the nations where we live, just as Queen Esther did!

We believe that what God did at this Gathering is part of the preparation for the Homecoming, at the end of this month in Hong Kong.

Chuck Pierce released a powerful prophetic word regarding this Overseas Chinese Gathering in Austin, Texas, in which he said, “this movement coming out of Austin will be one of the most affecting movements over these next three years here in America…. through Homecoming we’ll begin to unlock a movement of Kingdom, not just in the Chinese, but here in America.”  We say, “Yes, Lord, let Your will be done and Your kingdom come!”
