Early Gatherings

Restoring Honour to French Canada

by David Demian

A few years ago, I was staying with good friends of mine while I ministered in their church. They are a godly couple but on the day I arrived, there had obviously been a misunderstanding between them and the tension in the air was palpable. I was being careful not to say anything that could inflame the situation, and after a whole day with them, I was completely exhausted. I loved them; I just needed a break from all the tension. As I asked the Lord how to tell my friend that I needed to leave for a while, He said, "David, this is exactly what I feel in the church. I like to visit, but I cannot stay. There are too many atrocities, too much jealousy, too much pain." …

Canada's Early Years Walking With Nations

In late 2001, the Lord began opening doors into a number of nations, including Taiwan, Switzerland and Germany. In each of these nations, Watchmen has begun walking with national church leadership to determine the steps of obedience necessary to unlock their specific national destiny with a view to helping prepare the bride of Christ globally for the Lord's return. In Taiwan, this has meant 9 trips in the span of one year, culminating with 20,000 believers gathering on February 28, 2003 for a national day of repentance for idolatry …

Calling Forth the True Family of God

by David Demian

This past Christmas my wife Ruth, I and 6 of our 7 kids, went on what we hoped would be the family vacation of a lifetime. Through a blessing we received, we were able to take 5 weeks to travel to Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand. We were so excited! 2005 had been a very busy year and I had spent a lot of time traveling away from my family. Now all of our labours would be forgotten as we took time just to relax and have fun and enjoy ourselves. But we were not prepared for what would happen next …

Taiwan’s National Day of Repentance

by David Demian

I have just returned home to Canada and I want to share with you about the February 28th national repentance in Taiwan, for which many of you have been fasting and praying. I was amazed to see between fifteen and twenty thousand people from all the regions of Taiwan, many different denominations, ethnic backgrounds (Mandarin, Taiwanese, aboriginal people and Hakka) and ages, as well as many internationals stream into the Lingko stadium just outside of Taipei, for the start of the twelve-hour prayer meeting. Immediately you could sense that the people were of a genuine spirit, coming to meet with the Lord and seek His face with humble hearts ...

Canada – Hope for the Nations

by David Demian

"Canada is the hope of the nations." My spirit was stirred as my translator whispered these words to me. I was sitting, not in a church service in Canada, but more than 4000 miles away from home in a 5:00 a.m. prayer meeting in Taipei, Taiwan. As a national Taiwanese Christian leader declared these words, I realized that it confirmed what the Lord had spoken to us earlier this year …

Declaration to the Survivors

Archbishop Gervais read this formal declaration by representatives of the Canadian church. | We, as a body of concerned Christians representing many parts of the Church in Canada, humbly make this declaration to the survivors of the Holocaust and of the St. Louis ship. In the merciful prompting of God, we have been in a long prayerful journey of several years to bring us to this historic occasion …

Aboard the Train of Tears

Dear Intercessors, we are fourteen hours into the journey and one thing is clear - our spirits are willing, but our flesh is weak! It was thrilling to see people standing along the railway at various points along the way, waving and blessing us. One of the dear Messianic Jews who had come to the Commissioning Service was now waiting to wave us on at Port Coquitlam, Alan Gilman, with his wife and eight children …

Harrison, BC Gathering Report

Recognizing this as a very significant year for Canada, Watchmen for the Nations called a Gathering at Harrison Hot Springs in BC, November 12th to 14th. Over 500 pastors, leaders and intercessors from across Canada, gathered together for three days of prayer and supplication, to seek the Lord and repent before Him on behalf of Canada. Several leaders from other countries bearing the same heart and spirit joined in …

Realizing Canada’s Hour of Destiny

by David Demian

During the years I travelled with Pastor Bob Birch, a well-known spiritual father from Vancouver, my heart was deeply stirred to care for the church and for Canada. The question he constantly asked was, "What is the Spirit saying to the churches?" This question and hearing Pastor Bob, as he spent countless hours on his face crying to the Lord that He might move in Canada, is always before me …
