Intercession

UNITY PRAYER TEAM

The Unity Prayer Team is a team of intercessors from the global family that prays together through conference calls, written communications and face to face appointed times before, during and after a gathering to see the purposes of Heaven agreed with and fulfilled.

Each gathering is initiated by the Spirit through prayer, then prepared in prayer and finally sealed in prayer. The Unity Prayer Team comes alongside every aspect of each gathering, serving every team in prayer (from worship to administration) in order to prepare the way, clear the way and seek the will of God. Their lives are committed to prayer as individuals and as a team, and all that they do is only at the initiation of the Spirit of God.

CLOUD BY DAY AND FIRE BY NIGHT

Before time began God had a plan. We daily walk in the unexplainable mysteries of God. How can prayer open Heaven’s gates and release God’s glory?

Through the mystery and power of prayer we have seen young men and women restored to their earthly fathers and mothers. We have seen nations that historically stood as enemies become friends and family to one another. We have seen love replace offenses and divisions. These kinds of events have released miracles of restoration and unity throughout the body of Christ in many nations. We are witnesses of the mysteries of God being made manifest in the Earth at this time. For many years we have been on a journey; hungry to see God’s glory, patiently waiting for the cloud by day and the fire by night and not initiating anything unless God first directs.

We are witnessing believers throughout the nations arise with exuberant praise to the Father and radical love for one another. There is a convergence of nations, a holy alliance being established by the Most High God.  The cry of Jesus from John 17:23 resounds throughout the earth, “I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”

INTERCESSION AT THE GATHERINGS

DWELLING PLACE FOR HIS GLORY

prayer6.jpg

We desire to be a dwelling place for the tangible and manifest Presence of God and to allow His Holy Spirit to lead us. We are committed to seeing His will come forth and all glory be given to Him in all that we do and all that we pray. We seek His face and not His hand while posturing ourselves to be living temples. We long to be a resting place for His presence to dwell.

CORPORATE UNITY

Corporate oneness (unity) releases corporate authority. In the spirit of Jesus’ prayer for unity found in John 17, our desire is to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us as a corporate body (family). Then, through the power that comes from unity with Him and one another, we experience both anointing and authority in prayer.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: we exalt Him in the highest place.                              — Philippians 2: 1-5

We recognize that He has gifted each of us diversely and that we carry different measures of authority. We honour one another and make room for one another’s gifts as we come together in prayer. We honor the Lord through the power of blessing and the prayers of agreement.  We agree and appreciate one another without focusing on our differences, not wanting to give the enemy any opportunity to divide us.  We determine not to accuse or judge, but to bless and intercede.

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. — Revelation 12:11

Though we have leaders who facilitate our corporate prayer times, our hearts are intent toward seeing one another being released in gifting and callings. We long particularly to see the younger ones (whether in age or spiritual maturity) released to a greater depth and richness of His Presence. We are committed to “hitting the mark” with every prayer so as to please His heart.

SAFETY IN NUMBERS

prayer11.jpg

God set a precedent when He sent Moses and Aaron together to face Pharaoh.  Then in the book of Acts, Barnabas and Saul were commissioned to minister together.  Independence can create an unsafe place because we all see in part and discern in part.  We move and pray as a team in order to provide safety and protection to all members of the body.  Each person has something unique to offer based on the gift the Lord has given.  This is how we learn to function as a body with many parts.

This is the spirit which permeates every aspect of the gathering. No speaker or worship leader is announced, not because we don’t have any, but because we follow the Holy Spirit and yield completely to Him. And no big promotion is made to invite people to come either. We simply release the clear call the Lord gives us and believe the Lord draws those he has called for that gathering. Same goes for the worship team. As we prayerfully consider the ones the Lord might desire to be a part of the worship team, each one is asked to seek the Lord as to whether God is calling them to come. The blessing comes from each one’s obedience to God.

WORSHIP IN INTERCESSION

We always begin in worship to Him, offering our lives; not because we want anything from Him, but because He is worthy.  Together we engage with His heart’s desires so that our intercession flows out of intimacy with Him. Our worship and intercession blend together in order to release revelation, visions, prophetic words and instructions from the throne room.  As a team, we desire to enter into the intimate friendship between man and God.

The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. He confides in those who choose to commune with Him in intimate fellowship. — Psalm 25:14

HOW WE FUNCTION IN A GATHERING

The Unity Prayer Team arrives prior to the beginning of each gathering in order to prepare the spiritual atmosphere and pray together before all the people and teams arrive. We also meet before and after every session in order to pray, discern and agree together in prayer the will of the Lord. We have intercessors posted throughout the room during gatherings in order to pray.

Between gatherings the team stays in prayer and constant communication for the nations, meeting together and connecting for events within the global family and global communities.
