Today marks the beginning of the end of a journey that began
10 years ago. A journey to see God’s face of favour
turned toward a nation so that its healing could appear and
its destiny be released.
The journey began in Winnipeg on the Canada Day long weekend
in 1999. As a faithful remnant of believers from across Canada,
joined by some friends from around the world, travailed, wept
and lamented for the sins of our past, God heard from heaven
and received our sacrifice of contrition. Judgment was averted
and favour was released. Stones were laid down in a makeshift
altar at the time of the evening sacrifice on July 1st as
a witness for the generations that would come of God’s
faithfulness and mercy. Double rainbows appeared in the skies
of Winnipeg as a seal and a confirmation.
Today once again a faithful remnant of believers from across
Canada will gather in Winnipeg. Tonight this remnant, joined
by the church of Winnipeg, will recount together the story
of our journey and offer up a sacrifice of thanksgiving to
the Lord for all He has done. The Lord has done great things
for us and we are glad! (Psalm 126)
Tomorrow this team will accompany these historic stones on
a procession of thankfulness spanning over 2000 kms from Winnipeg
to Ottawa. The tour will stop in Thunder Bay, Sault Ste Marie
and North Bay and in each city, believers from the surrounding
communities will gather to celebrate and offer thanksgiving
on behalf of the whole nation, for what the Lord has done.
Finally, on July 22 at 7:00 p.m. the stones will be brought
by procession into the Ottawa Civic Centre for the start of
an international celebration, the Promise Gathering. (For
more details on the schedule and locations for the Stones
of Remembrance Procession of Thankfulness please see the end
of this email.)
In my heart I know that we are at the end of a 10-year journey
of testing, of moving in obedience to the Lord as He revealed
to us, one step a time, keys for unlocking His healing and
His purposes for our nation. And now as a nation we are positioned
for a great transition that is about to take place in the
Church of Jesus Christ globally: the revelation of One Body,
rising up in love and unity, with complete abandonment and
total submission to exalt Jesus to His rightful place as King
over His Church. And as the Head comes into right position
and the Body comes into right alignment with the Head, we
will see a release of God’s authority to establish His
spiritual kingdom in the way we have only dreamed about until
now. The Book of Acts was never meant to be the fulfillment
but only the beginning of the Church. We are about to enter
an era of the chronicles of the days of His glorious presence
where we will see our King, eternal, immortal, invisible,
the only God, be honored and given glory now and forever and
ever. Amen! (1Timothy 1:17)
Thank you to the thousands of you from across Canada who have
joined your prayers, your faith, your worship, your tears,
your declarations and your perseverance with the generations
of faithful ones who have gone before us in our nation. We
have run our race well and we are crossing the finish line
surrounded by great cheers from the cloud of witnesses who,
together with us, are completing this journey too.
Today as One Body in heaven and earth, let us look forward
wih hope to the new era that is dawning and declare with faith
and joy:
"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at
hand!” (Mark 1:15)
All my love
David
