Covenant to Stand for God's Purposes - The Cluster

This covenant was read by David Mainse to the inaugural members of the Cluster before the assembled leadership at the Ottawa Gathering, April 2, 2004.

For the sake of God's purposes in Canada, are you willing to lay down your own thoughts, your own will, your own agenda, even your own reputation and that His kingdom may come and His will be done in this nation? If so, say I do.

Do you embrace the spirit, the humility, the mandate, and above all the heart posture that has been manifested by the existing leadership of Watchmen? Do you commit with God's grace to faithfully steward the vision that God has entrusted to Watchmen for the Nations. If so, say I do.

In the presence of those assembled here and the great cloud of unseen witnesses of ages past, do you covenant to earnestly contend for Canada's God's given destiny: past, present and future? If so say, I do.

And now to the congregation. Under our flag that prophesies healing to the nation, do you commit to honour, encourage, love and pray for these leaders as they seek the Lord and His heart for this nation?

Do you commit to walk with them, that together we can see God's destiny for Canada fulfilled? Would you stand and say with me, I do.

Amen!

As you do, God does too.

"In the time of my favour I will answer you
and in the day of salvation I will help you
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
to restore the land
and to reassign its desolate inheritances
to say to the captives, "Come out!"
and to those in darkness, "Be free!" (Isaiah 49:8-9)

"Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up age-old foundations
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings. (Isaiah 58:12)
