Kelowna

In September 2001, more than 100 Christian church leaders representing 48 cities across the nation of Canada met together for 3 days to seek the Lord. This Gathering of National Fathers and Mothers represented the culmination of a three-year journey of the leadership of the nation walking together in brokenness and humility.

During this gathering, the Lord issued a clear call to the leadership to lay down their own ministries, agendas and plans to seek a new level of corporate unity. The leaders entered into The Covenant, a prophetic act whereby they committed to lay down their lives for one another that God's purposes might be fulfilled in Canada.

Unity David Demian shares the vision for the Kelowna Gathering in this interview from September 19, 2001.

I Beseech You Therefore Brethren - The Father's longing for His Church was expressed in Jesus' prayer for us in John 17. We must set ourselves in agreement with the Father to listen to Him, walk in obedience and allow the Lord to do whatever He wants to bring us into the complete unity of the Father and Son.

The Covenant - Ezekiel 37 tells the story of two sticks - representing Judah and Ephraim - which in the hand of the prophet became one stick that could not be separated. As the leaders gathered at the outdoor fire pit, each took a stick and laid it down. These sticks were then bound together by French Canadian, Aboriginal and Inuit fathers and set on fire representing the a covenant to lay down everything for one another to see the Lord's purposes fulfilled in Canada.

The Acceptable Year - On September 10, 2001, David Demian released this prophetic article to the church of Canada. In light of the historic events the next day, this message, about the kairos timings of the Lord was a highlight of the Gathering.

Kiss Me with the Kisses of your Mouth The Lord is preparing a bride that will know the gaze and the look of His face. For it is only from a place of intimacy and rest with the Father that the Lord will be able to release the true authority to the church.

Proud to Be a Canadian - God began to move in the hearts of French Canadian leaders in Kelowna to begin a process of healing of the deep wounds of division in our nation. (Article includes video clips)

Let My People Go! - At the Kelowna Gathering, a call was issued for a 40-day fast for Quebec and the Francophones of Canada.
