Day 16 Consecrated Lips
Wednesday August 8
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Genesis 1:3-4
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so
that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Heb
11:3
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat
its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
Words have power. God spoke and created the heavens and the earth. We too
have the power of “life and death” in our tongues. The words we speak
literally will determine the course of our lives and the lives of those around
us.
Why? Because we are spiritual beings living in a spiritual kingdom that is
governed by spiritual laws. And one of these laws is that what we speak
has power.
Another one of these spiritual laws of the Kingdom is the power of agreement.
“I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you that
if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you
by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:18-20
When we come into agreement with something and we speak it from our mouths, that
thought or idea moves from the spiritual realm into establishment in the
physical realm. The spiritual realm is filled constantly with words. God
is always speaking, words of life, words of faith, words of hope, words of love,
words of blessing. But our enemy is always speaking too.
He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is
no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar
and the father of lies. John 8:44
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the
power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the
accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been
hurled down. Revelation 12:10
This is why it is so key for us to be able to clearly discern what voice is
speaking to us – is it the voice of the Good Shepherd or the voice of a
stranger? (John 10:1-5)
Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your
tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Psalm 34:12-13
Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “lie” as a gross falsification or
misrepresentation of the facts, with constant repetition and embellishment to
lend credibility.
The enemy knows the power of words and so he is constantly bombarding us with
lying thoughts that are not in alignment with the word of God.
“You are so stupid”. “You will never fulfill what God wants for you”.
“Everything you touch dies instead of growing”. “Your marriage is a
failure”. “You are hopeless, why don’t you just give up?”
The enemy wants us to allow those thoughts which “set themselves up against the
knowledge of God” to be accepted by us as our own thoughts. And once they
have taken root, and we begin to speak them out loud, either to ourselves, to
others, or even to God in prayer, we come into a unholy alliance with the enemy.
The spiritual laws of agreement and the creative power of words are set into
motion to bring whatever it is we have spoken into reality in the natural realm.
One of our friends, who had been working as a missionary in a foreign country,
returned home last year. He and his wife believed the Lord was asking them
to return and as they discerned with other family members and friends, all were
in agreement this was God’s will for them. But in the weeks just prior to
their return this man started having troubling dreams about returning to his
former employer (where he had been very successful and prosperous) but not be
able to “make it” – even provide for his family’s basic financial needs.
So assuming these dreams were warnings from the Lord, he tried to find other
employment but when he was unsuccessful, with trepidation, he went back to his
old job.
A year later he was desperately struggling to make ends meet, despite working
12-hour+ days. Month after month he would think of these dreams and berate
himself for not being more diligent to heed the “warning”. Yet every time
he would pray or counsel with others, it confirmed that he was in the right job.
Just a few days ago, he and his wife were sharing when the Lord clearly spoke to
his wife: “Those dreams were never from Me! They are not in
alignment with My will or My heart for you! Your husband needs to renounce
those dreams and break the unholy alliance with the enemy that is keeping him
trapped in fear and poverty!”.
Have you ever heard the term “self-fulfilling prophecy?” Prophecy means to
speak something before it happens. This is exactly what this friend of ours was
doing and exactly what the Israelites did when God first spoke to them about
entering the Promised Land.
The LORD said to Moses, "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which
I am giving to the Israelites. Num 13:2
God said he was giving them the land. But when the spies came back, with
the exception of Joshua and Caleb, they were consumed with the negative report.
God’s word was “I am giving you the land” but what did they say?
"We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." And they
spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They
said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw
there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak
come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we
looked the same to them." “Num 13:31-33
God’s report was that they were victorious possessors. The enemy’s report
was they were nothing, they were grasshoppers. And as they came into
agreement with the enemy and refused to trust in the word of God, their unbelief
hindered them from entering the Promised Land but instead doomed them to wander
in the desert of unfulfillment until they died.
This consecration call is about reversing the curse of not entering. To do
this we need to start by bringing our lips into alignment with God. What
can we do practically? First we need to start filing our hearts and minds
as much as we can with the word of God. And then we need to start speaking
only what God speaks. For example how many of you have said “I just can’t
hear God”? The moment you say that you have come into agreement with the
lies of the enemy and you have created a stronghold, a demonic siege work
against God’s will for your life. We know from God’s word that He is
always speaking and He always desires us to hear Him too. So we need to
say “I’m having trouble hearing God but I know that God is speaking and He wants
me to hear Him, so can you pray with me to see this broken?” Releasing
words that are in alignment with God’s word will activate the power of God to
break through any hindrances of the enemy and bring forth God’s purpose into our
life.
The time has come," Jesus said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and
believe the good news!" Mark 1:15
It’s time for us to repent of areas where we have believed and spoken the lies
of the enemy into our lives or the lives of those around us. God is
opening a window of grace now to expose, break and renounce unholy alliances
with the enemy so that we might be re-positioned to receive and speak only the
words of life that God has for us and for the lives of those around us.
If you would like to ask the Lord to consecrate your lips in this season please
pray this prayer: "Jesus You said that man does not live by bread alone
but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. God I want to feed
on your words because they are life. Lord I ask you right now to expose in
my life places where I have entered into unholy alliances with the enemy by
speaking words that are not in alignment with Your word. Father, I want to
be like Jesus who only spoke what He heard You speaking. God, like you did
for Isaiah, I ask you to take the coal from your altar and cleanse my lips.
Jesus you alone have the words of life – may my words become words of life to me
and all those around me. In Jesus name, AMEN!"
We also believe God can use music powerfully as a spiritual tool for declaration
and prayer.

When on Sunday August 5th no e-mail came and I had a time to listen
to the Lord. He spoke about “thoughts” to me. He told me that He wants my
thoughts. He wants to have all the good and the bad thoughts from us so that He
can fill our mind with His godly thoughts, the ones of life (eternal life).
The next day I asked the heavenly Father more about this theme. He explained to
me that our thoughts are so influenced by the world, by humanism and the Greek
thinking system. That is why we should give him all of our thoughts and let Him
give us His wonderful thoughts.
I then asked Jesus how to do it practically. He told me to always to ask what
the truth is.
I tried it: when I realize I was thinking a worldly thought I gave it to Jesus
and asked for His thoughts. Suddenly I recognized His true thoughts in my mind.
This is so wonderful.
I am so happy to have this precious way to change my thoughts because (mostly
good) thoughts disturb and distract me so often when I want to speak with the
Lord or come into His presence.

release. This was very confirming to our team.)
