Establishing a Canopy over the Nation

A number of years ago the Lord gave me a vision of a canopy of His presence over the nation.  As I was looking at this canopy, the Lord told me to step closer.  As I did, I found the one canopy was actually formed of huge umbrellas over each province that were overlapping at the edges, so as to not leave a gap.  Then the Lord told me to step closer again, and as I did, I saw that each huge provincial umbrella was formed of many smaller umbrellas, of the cities and regions, that were linked together.  And the Lord spoke to me and said “David, it only takes one of these small umbrellas to be folded for the enemy to come through and weaken the canopy until it collapses.”

I believe this vision of the canopy is part of the new model the Lord is seeking to establish as He re-fashions His church more closely to the image of His kingdom.  I believe we are undergoing a radical transformation as the Lord is re-aligning our minds and our hearts with the principles of His Kingdom.  I believe that the current 52-day consecration call is part of this transformation process. We are undergoing a deep time of circumcision and healing, as the Lord separates light from darkness within our hearts and minds, exposing the lies of the enemy and replacing it with the light of His truth. 

A Continuous Manifestation

Over the last 12 years God has walked with us as a remnant of His body to see major breakthroughs for the destiny of our nation.  As we have gathered we have seen amazing manifestations of God’s presence and power.  But in this season of alignment the Lord is challenging us that it’s not enough for us to experience these breakthroughs and manifest presence of God when we gather nationally every year or so; it’s time to see a continuous manifestation of God’s presence everywhere in our nation. 

That is why I believe God is looking for us to apply the same principles we have been taught in our national journey to every level of our lives.  As we make a commitment to the Lord to wait on Him until He speaks and when He speaks to respond with surrendered obedience, I truly believe we will begin to see the power of corporate hearing and corporate authority released in our lives as individuals, families, churches cities and provinces.  And through this our whole nation will be transformed.  We will be a church that is finally modeled after our Elder Brother Jesus, who only did what He saw the Father doing and spoke what He heard the Father saying. 

The Next Step – Provincial Gatherings

Over the last few weeks, a team of over 125 leaders from throughout the nation have been connecting through email and conference calls to begin to hear the Lord together. As we did, we sensed the Lord was calling us to begin, this fall, to gather together in open provincial gatherings throughout the nation.  I believe these gatherings will be very key not just for sharing vision, but as times of extended worship and waiting on the Lord, seeking Him on behalf of our provinces and cities.  I sense as we go deep into the presence of the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to saturate us, we will experience tremendous breakthroughs as the Lord begins to direct us how to possess the inheritances of our cities and provinces.  I believe these gatherings will also stir within us a greater hunger to commit to a lifestyle of seeking the Lord in our cities, our churches, our families and individual lives. 

I also feel these gatherings are a key to releasing the next national gathering – The Promise – in Montreal.  The Lord spoke clearly to me many months ago that we would not be released to Montreal until there was a remnant walking with the faith to possess.  I believe that God is preparing us in the consecration call to walk in a new level of faith and that these regional gatherings are our first opportunity to come together to begin to possess the inheritances of our provinces and cities.  That way, when we do receive the release to gather in Montreal nationally, it will be the summing up of the many breakthroughs that have been happening throughout the provinces and regions.  And with this new level of faith established, we will have the authority to begin to call back to life the original promises in the foundation of our nation. 

Fighting for Our Brothers’ Inheritance

When  the children of Israel entered the Promised Land, they were admonished that they should not only fight for their own inheritances but they needed also to secure the inheritances of their brothers – only in this way would the Promised land, the nation, be fully secured.  I really believe

these regional gatherings are a key strategy of the Lord to begin the process of deeply knitting together our hearts within our cities and provinces, but also between different cities and provinces. 

This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, 'Let us go at once to entreat the LORD and seek the LORD Almighty. I myself am going.' Zechariah 8:20- 21

I want to encourage you to begin to seek the Lord for other provinces and regions of the country as God lays them on your heart.  Maybe the Lord will ask you to go to other regions and provinces to stand with them in their gatherings to see their promises possessed.  As we have been talking about the power and wisdom of corporate hearing, I also believe that the Lord will begin to speak to many across the country, revelation and words of encouragement for the brethren in other cities and provinces.   

We will be doing all we can to facilitate this communication so that as the Lord speaks to you about another city or province, you will have a way to communicate this to a team of leadership in that province who will be responsible for spiritual oversight and discernment.  More information will be released about this in the very near future. 

The First Two Gatherings – Alberta and Quebec

Alberta and Quebec will be the first two provinces to gather.  Alberta’s gathering will be held in Edmonton, starting at 7:00 p.m. Thursday September 27^th and continuing through late in the evening, Saturday September 29^th.  Two weeks later, the Quebec Gathering will take place in Montreal (St-Hubert) beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thursday October 11 and continuing through late in the evening Saturday October 13^th.  More information on registration will be sent out in the next few days but please mark these dates on your calendars and begin to cover these gatherings in your prayers.

What incredible days we are living in!  I truly believe we are on the verge of seeing the hand of the Lord moving in our nation in a way that we have not ever seen before as the body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Ephesians 4:16).  Truly His glory will be a canopy over our nation!

In that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel. Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem. The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire. Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over all the glory will be a canopy. It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. Isaiah 4:2-6
